Ann Arbor's 22nd Tellabration took place on Friday, November 15 and once again it was an event to remember!   A special THANK YOU  to our Tellabration Committee Chair, Laura Lee Hayes, for getting the "troops" organized - sending innumerable e-mails, hosting meetings, working on the program, etc.  The tellers: Beverly Black, Lyn Davidge, Jeff Doyle, Jane Fink, Jill Halpern, Jennifer Otto, Judy Schmidt and Gertrude Warkentin, were definitely “in the zone.”  Our emcee, Jeff Doyle , kept the program moving,  Anna Haines-Smith did a magnificent job of signing and Beverly Black tied the program together with her Celtic harp interludes. The stories transported us to an assortment of places including  South America, Lansing, Virginia, Idaho, Detroit, Russia and Saskatchewan - not to mention Ann Arbor. They also transcended the boundaries of time, traveling from the early decades of the 1900s through the 30s, 40s, 50s, 70s, 80s, etc. right into the 21st century.  Butter churns, chips, lizards, peacocks, mules, vacuum cleaners and tornadoes all played a part in the proceedings.  Whatever you do, don't miss the next one!

Laura Lee Hayes, Sarah Fuller and Judy Schmidt - Sarah won the door prize quilt.

Fun, Fun, Fun!

Family Tellabration Concert - Sunday, November 17

Pittsfield Branch of the Ann Arbor District Library

Emcee Star Burton-West set the tone for the afternoon, capturing the audience’s attention with a singing bowl and beginning the program with a paper folding story. A Louisiana version of the Gingerbread Man by Elizabeth James carried on the mood.  Darryl Mickens and Daniel dinosaur continued in the spirit of fun to the crowd’s great amusement.  Next came a spirited rendition of Jack and the Robbers by Beverly Black, after which Star followed up with another spectacular paper folding story and the return of the singing bowl. And, once again, we were fortunate to have Anna Haines-Smith signing the stories!
